Egyptian Self Portraits!
The Second Grade Students learned about the art of ancient Egypt. They viewed tomb paintings of ancient Egyptian kings, and they learned that the Egyptians believed the paintings on the wall would come to life once a king was deceased!
The students learned how to draw a profile, and they adopted the ancient Egyptian style of painting humans to create their own self portraits. Some students took the opportunity to write notes to their loved ones :)
