Drawing Pigeons with Mo Willems

After reading the book "The Pigeon Wants a Puppy" by Mo Willems, the kindergarten students learned how to draw a series of shapes in order to draw their own pigeons. The students used their creativity to come up with something new for the pigeons to want.

Kindergarten Painters!

The Kindergarten students have been working together to paint large circus animals. The finished paintings will be on display in the school hallways during "Kindergarten Round-Up," a night for pre-k students and their parents to check out Crossroads Charter Academy!
Kindergarten Round-Up is on March 1 at 6:30.

Sumi Ink Trees

The kindergarteners blew air through a straw to move sumi ink around on their paper in the shape of a Japanese Maple tree trunk. After the "trunks" were dry, the students applied red paint for the leaves.

Grouchy Ladybugs!

The kindergarten students read the book "The Very Grouchy Ladybug" by Eric Carle. They explored how to create a face that looked "very grouchy," and they worked on fine motor skills by using collage techniques.
