Torn Paper Sheep

The Kindergarten students practiced fine motor skills by tearing paper shapes to create sheep. The students seemed to enjoy drawing smiling faces on the sheep. Next year we will work on realism :)

First Grade Cardinals

The first Grade students used simple shapes to create drawings of cardinals. The students were inspired by the bright, red color of the cardinals against the stark, white snow.

BIGGBY ART SHOW!!

Cool Hands!

The Kindergarteners learned the difference between the cool colors (blue, purple, and green) and the warm colors (red, orange, and yellow). Since we have cold hands during this time of year, the students created cool hand collages!

Snow People!

The First Grade Students Read the the book Snowballs by Lois Elhert. They learned about all of the "good stuff" you can save for decorating a snow person. The students created a variety of snowpeople...from snow grandmas to snow babies!!

Silhouettes

The second Grade Students have learned how to create silhouettes in their paintings. They have also learned how to create tints and tones to show different times in the day.

3rd Grade Paper Weaving!

The third grade students learned about the art of woven, African Kente cloth. The students observed the colors, shapes, textures, and patterns shown, and they created paper weavings resembling Kente cloth.
